‘1,000 likes or I will drop him’: Algerian main jailed for dangling baby from window

It’s an image that will make your heart stop.  An infant was dangled from the 15th floor window of an apartment build in Algeria and the person responsible did it for Facebook likes.

The man posted a picture of himself holding the baby out of a window in a high-rise building with the caption: “1,000 likes or I will drop him.”

The post outraged users who called for the man to be arrested for child abuse.

It turns out that the person behind the photo is a relative of the baby.  On Sunday, he was arrested for child endangerment.

The accused testified that the child was never in danger.  He said someone altered the photo to remove the protective barriers that surround the balcony.  However, a judge did not buy the man’s version of the story. Despite pleas for leniency from the child’s father, a judge sentenced the relative to two years in prison.
