Miracle Mattress closing its doors in wake of 9/11 ad fallout

In the span of mere 21 seconds, a business committed what proved to be a fatal error.

As shared in a previous post, Miracle Mattress, of San Antonio, TX, faced a huge online backlash following an extremely tasteless 9/11-themed online ad. The ad, for a promotion they called their ‘Twin Towers’ sale, featured two men standing in front of two “towers” of stacked mattresses. The ad ends with the spokesperson throwing her arms back, causing both men to crash into the “towers” and topple them, in a parody re-enactment of the fall of the Twin Towers on 9/11.

In an update to this story, Miracle Mattress will be closing its doors indefinitely. With all the negative publicity it has received worldwide over this ad, the owner decided it would be best to simply shutter the business.

Owner Mike Bonanno announced the closing in the following letter.
