Robert Griffin III already has enough stress in his life. After losing his starting position on the Washington football team and rumors of him being shopped around for a trade, the quarterback should be trying to keep a low media profile, as anything he does in going to grab attention.
Then, in the midst of all this drama came the like seen ’round the internet.
A post went out on Instagram, ripping the team and its owner, Dan Snyder. The post referred to the “sorry a** team owner” and the “sorry a** front office” and contained the hashtag #ImpeachDanSnyder. The post garnered an interesting like — one straight from the official account of Robert Griffin III.
Later, Griffin unliked the post and put out his own post on Instagram, stating he “just wanted to set the record straight”. According to Griffin, it wasn’t he that did it. It was some pesky intern. Griffin went on to say:
I did not “like” that IG post ridiculing our team. I have not been social media active consistently for awhile now and am ultra-focused on working to get back on the field and trying to help this team. One of our interns who helps with Instagram liked the post. As soon as I was made aware of it, it was immediately unliked. That is not how I feel and I appreciate your understanding. #HTTR
Perhaps Griffin would be better served by going silent on social media until the whole job situation gets worked out.
