Rupert Murdoch tweets infers Obama not “real black President”

Rupert Murdoch, the CEO of NewsCorp (which includes holdings such as Fox News, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post), weighed in on the issue of race and put out a tweet that left many shaking their heads.

The phrase, “real black President” is leaving many asking a question about what credibility Murdoch would have to make such an assessment.

Since he put it out on Twitter, there was no shortage of responses.

Despite running company whose business is the news, Murdoch made himself scarce when the questions began coming in seeking clarification on just what he meant by this tweet.  Then, this morning, he issued a rather odd apology.

“No offence meant”?

Perhaps, going forward,  Mr. Murdoch would be better off not going there on race.
