When you’re the spouse of a public official, your actions can reflect positively or negatively on your significant other. Ask Judy Mozes. Mozes, in addition to being a talk-show host, is also the wife of the head of the Israeli Ministry of the Interior, Silvan Shalom. Last week, she sent out the following “joke” via Twitter.
This tweet went out to her 75,000 followers and, in no time, she realized that she had stepped in it. Less than 20 minutes later, she had deleted her comment and began apologizing.
Mozes’ husband is also the vice prime minister and a member of Likud, the current party in power in Israel. These comments come at a time when the relationship between the U.S. and Israel is strained. So, race-baiting is the last thing that is needed, especially from someone with such a prominent place among her country’s political elites.
