Russell Brand is definitely edgy and not afraid to cross lines. This time, however, the line he crossed could get him booted from Twitter.
Brand has had a bit of back-and-forth with British press in relation to his involvement with protests against the housing crisis being experienced by London’s poor. He took particular exception to the actions of one reporter and decided to strike back.
So how did he do it? He tweeted out the reporter’s contact number to his 8.7 million followers.
While it doesn’t appear to be the reporter’s personal phone, Twitter does have a guideline the prohibits the sharing of non-public phone numbers via its service. If it’s found that Brand violated this policy, he can kiss his account and huge following goodbye.
Brand took down the tweet but not before some of his fans took up his call to action by calling and texting the reporter.
It looks like passions got the best of him on this one. But, if he’s not going to need those 8.7 million followers, he can send a few my way.
